As Director of AI - Chief Data Office you will be part of the leadership team within the Chief Data Office and responsible for overseeing Artificial Intelligence initiatives. This will include establishing frameworks and processes for Data-centric AI use cases on the AI & data platforms (e.g. machine learning deployment) supporting data led use cases, as well as enhancing our AI data capabilities, enabling AI driven decision-making using data , and fostering a culture of innovation within the organisation. You will develop and execute a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with the CDO, the organisations business objectives and the CIO operating model. You will be identifying and pursuing innovative projects that leverage data and AI to drive business value. 


Your role will drive experimentation through prototypes and proof of concepts by providing sandbox environments, tooling advisory, and accelerators for AI solutions. You will drive Intact Insurance UK Limited to be the leading edge through researching and implementing the latest trends and advancements in data science and AI, whilst integrating relevant technologies into the lab's projects. As part of your role, you will design, support the development of, and oversee the deployment of ML models. 


You will define and manage Data-centric AI frameworks for the organisation, ensuring all data and associated AI practices comply with relevant regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies, this includes enabling analytical & data teams by establishing and managing AI governance on the Data/AI platform. Your role will establish an AI Data Centric CoE, working alongside the central AI governance function to bring together Data, technology, risk to support data led use cases to achieve the groups AI ambitions and goals, partnering with our parent company to accelerate our journey. You will build, mentor and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, whilst providing senior leaders appropriate recommendations and reporting on AI initiatives and usage at RSA.

You will have an extensive background in Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI with an understanding of the insurance business, including commercial and specialty lines. You will have an excellent understanding of responsible AI, Data Architecture, Machine Learning, and analytics frameworks with a passion for keeping up to date with the latest developments in Data and AI. An excellent understanding of Azure, Databricks, and ML Platforms and using and rolling out LLM models in an enterprise will be required for your role. 


You will have extensive experience with tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn and knowledge of data engineering and cloud platforms. You will be an experienced leader, with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, explaining complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders. An excellent knowledge of compliance frameworks and ethical AI guidelines will be required for your role
