We are currently recruiting for an Area Development Manager to join our established and experienced Broker Development team here at RSA on a hybrid basis. Your Role The purpose of this role is to successfully support the Regional Management team to deliver outperformance in profitability, customer service and employee satisfaction within the commercial lines businesses. You will have overall accountability for delivery of the P&L for the regions in your area spanning both the RSA mid-market and NIG regional business lines. You will lead a team of Senior Business Development Managers to achieve the required results for the region. Working with the regional manager, you will be responsible for understanding the landscape of other companies and developing an appropriate strategy to provide best possible outcomes. You will assess business opportunities and constraints with each brokerage, deploying regional resource to align accordingly. This will be done by working closely with your direct reports to formulate impactful broker partnerships agreements, comprising the best mix of profit and growth. Through your market knowledge and understanding of RSA appetite, you will identify, prospect and ultimately win significant strategic opportunities both for the region and across the wider RSA business. About You To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have experience of managing strategic, broker or client partnerships within Commercial Insurance in London and the Home Counties. You will be able to articulate and be accountable for the underwriting result including the ability to interpret loss ratio curves, trends and market opportunities. You will need to understand underwriting processes, looking for opportunities to optimise performance, managing inner Key Performance Indicators to ensure the best shape of the book. It would also be useful to hold or have held a Personal Underwriting authority to help steer decision making at regional level. You will need to have the ability to lead and motivate a regional sales team, guiding them through change and building engagement along the way What we offer you At RSA we put our people first.
