We are currently recruiting for a Surety Underwriting Leader / Head of Surety to join RSA as we look to enter the Surety Market. Backed by Intact insurance who are already a big player in this market we already have some good foundations to build from. Your Role This is a fantastic opportunity to build and develop a book of business and design the strategy within Surety Underwriting. As the Underwriting Leader you will build a team that manages underwriting of profitable new business in line with business and portfolio strategies and performance targets for wholesale and international business. All this while keeping in line with internal and external governance and compliance standards. You will spend much of your time motivating your team to secure profitable deals and generate new business through effective selling. You will also be involved in developing and implementing operational plans, business development activities, monitoring and reporting business performance, managing stakeholder relationships and guiding and developing your team. You will have experience of developing business plans and whilst also managing a team, you will also build, maintain and develop relationships with selected brokers to optimise profitable growth. You will also spend some of your time working with brokers identifying, discussing, negotiating and converting new and existing business opportunities. In addition to this you will hold a senior underwriting license which you will maintain, and you will be responsible for coaching others and act as a referral point What we offer you At RSA we put our people first.
