Stratford Upon Avon
A paid, full-time 8-week summer internship working with a trusted, people-focused UK insurer Spend your summer working on real projects that play a direct part in shaping our future growth.
Location: Stratford-upon-Avon with hybrid working available
Start date: 22nd June 2026
Entry Requirements: Ideally in your penultimate year of undergraduate study and on track for a minimum 2:2 honours degree (any discipline welcome)
Salary: £24,037 pro rata
Over eight weeks, you’ll gain hands‑on experience at the heart of our HR Division, contributing to real work that helps improve how we support colleagues across the business. You won’t be limited to one area either. During your placement, you’ll rotate across several HR teams, including Reward, Employee Experience, Employee Relations and People Insights, giving you a broad understanding of how each part of HR contributes to our overall people strategy.
These rotations will help you explore how data, technology and user‑centred design shape the employee journey, while also giving you the chance to build relationships, develop core HR skills and discover where your interests lie. Throughout the internship, you’ll support a variety of meaningful tasks: updating project plans, analysing HR data, supporting process improvements, producing clear and engaging visuals for project updates, and contributing to discussions that help teams make informed decisions.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting project work linked to upcoming employment legislation changes and the FCA’s Non‑Financial Misconduct regulation. You’ll be surrounded by supportive colleagues who value fresh thinking and will help you build the confidence, capability and insight you need to take your next steps.
You’re curious, proactive, and excited to learn how HR uses data, technology and well‑run projects to make a real difference. You don’t need any prior HR or project experience, just enthusiasm, a growth mindset and the willingness to get involved. You’ll be on track for at least a 2:2 degree, in any subject.
While a degree subject with a people focus, such as Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, Sociology, or other social sciences would be ideal, it’s not essential to be successful. What matters most is your interest in how people, systems and processes come together to create a great employee experience.
You’ll thrive here if you can bring:
Strong communication skills and the confidence to build positive working relationships
A collaborative approach - with the desire to work effectively as part of a team
Good organisational and time‑management skills in a fast‑moving environment
Adaptability – you’re comfortable switching between tasks, learning new approaches and working with different teams
A proactive, problem‑solving approach – you enjoy finding better ways of doing things and contributing ideas that make processes more effective
Strong digital and analytical skills – confidence using tools such as Microsoft 365 (especially Excel), paired with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns and apply insight to support decision‑making, along with a genuine desire to keep learning.
Previous work experience is helpful, particularly if it’s helped you develop your communication or interpersonal skills, but it’s not essential. What matters is your potential and your willingness to get stuck in.
