Edinburgh, 16 Jan 2025 – GAIN (Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment, and Neurodiversity) is delighted to announce BlackRock as our first investment Industry Transformer member. As a global investment manager committed to fostering financial well-being worldwide, BlackRock’s decision to join GAIN marks a significant step in its ongoing efforts to create an inclusive workplace and nurture neurodiverse talent.
BlackRock becomes the 1st Asset Manager and 46th corporate member to join GAIN and will support GAIN’s mission to improve employment prospects for neurodivergent individuals. “Partnering with GAIN provides a unique opportunity for BlackRock,” said Graham Carle, Technical Fellow and Managing Director at BlackRock. “We recognise that neurodivergent individuals offer unique skills and problem-solving abilities that are key to BlackRock’s development and success. Our commitment to their wellbeing is central to fostering an environment where all team members can thrive.”
Approximately 18 months ago, BlackRock employees established their own neurodiversity network to connect employees with shared experiences and needs. BlackRock also created a neurodiversity task force with leaders across departments from health and safety to engineering, to support neurodivergent and disabled employees with tailored accommodations. This collaborative effort, alongside a dedicated accommodations portal, has fostered inclusivity across the organisation by making support resources accessible and responsive to employees’ needs.
“We are thrilled to welcome BlackRock as a GAIN industry transformer,” said Francis McGee, Executive Chair of GAIN. “Their approach to workplace inclusivity exemplifies the type of leadership needed to set industry standards, not just within their organisation, but also across the investment sector. Together, we can continue to build workplaces that truly support neurodivergent talent.”
GAIN’s Industry Transformers not only champion neurodiversity within their own organisations but also drive industry-wide change through collaborative initiatives, benefiting both businesses and individuals by enabling them to thrive. BlackRock’s commitment to this cause exemplifies its leadership in fostering sustainable, inclusive growth across the sector.
